About

My name is Sulaiman Ismaila, and I am an academic and researcher with a growing specialization in Criminology and Security Studies. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Criminology and Security Studies at Federal University Dutse, where my research focuses on contemporary security challenges affecting communities in Nigeria. My academic experience in a multidisciplinary institution has enabled me to integrate perspectives from social sciences, community development, and rural studies in addressing issues of crime and insecurity. One of my key strengths lies in academic research and analytical writing, particularly in conducting desk-based and literature-driven studies. I have developed strong skills in synthesizing scholarly materials and presenting research findings using established academic standards such as APA 7th edition referencing. In addition, I possess practical competencies in digital data collection and research tools, including Google Forms, KoBoToolbox, ODK Collect, and CommCare, which enable me to design and deploy structured surveys for field research and development projects. I also have experience in developing academic lecture materials and curriculum-related content, reflecting my commitment to effective teaching, knowledge dissemination, and scholarly engagement. My research focus is broadly centered on community-based approaches to crime prevention and security governance. Through this research, I explore how grassroots actors, local institutions, and community
