About

I am an Associate Professor of Public Health and Community Medicine with a Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) and a Master of Health Education (MHE). My academic and professional career spans clinical medicine, public health research, health systems strengthening, and community-based interventions, with a strong commitment to translating evidence into policy and practice in low-resource settings. My research focuses on infectious and neglected tropical diseases—particularly Female Genital Schistosomiasis (FGS), HIV, tuberculosis, and integrated primary healthcare delivery. I have led and collaborated on multidisciplinary studies examining gendered health-seeking behaviors, health system readiness, workforce capacity, and integrated disease screening models in underserved communities. My work combines epidemiological methods, implementation research, and community engagement approaches to design scalable, equity-focused interventions. As a Fellow of the West African College of Physicians, I bring strong clinical expertise integrated with population-level public health analysis. My MHE training further strengthens my capacity in health promotion, behavioral change communication, and capacity building of frontline health workers. My strengths include research design and methodology, grant development, stakeholder engagement, supervision of postgraduate students, and scientific writing for peer-reviewed publications and policy briefs. I am particularly passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and implementation research that bridges gaps between academia, health systems, and communities. Through ProjectBist, I aim to contribute rigorous, policy-relevant research while collaborating with global experts to advance innovative solutions that address health inequities in resource-constrained settings.
